Located on "the peaceful side of the Smokies," Townsend/Great Smokies KOA is a tranquil place to visit. Surrounded by the beautiful forests of the Smoky Mountains and nestled up against the Little River, this KOA provides a great setting for relaxing and enjoying nature. Cades Cove is just around the corner with plenty of biking and hiking opportunities, and the Little River is excellent for swimming, tubing and trout fishing. Visit the on-site Sweet Shoppe for hand-dipped ice cream and homemade fudge. The convenience store offers gas/diesel fuel, propane and souvenirs. Full hookups are available on level, grassy sites with a paved patio area. Tent Sites (with a new restroom) range from semi-sunny to wooded. You can also reserve a Camping Cabin or furnished Deluxe Cabin. Enjoy the swimming pool, playground, pavilion, basketball court, tube and bicycle rentals and a game room/lounge.
