Hike with amazing views of Valley of Ten Peaks, including Mount Fay (10,613 ft), Mount Little (10,131 ft), Deltaform Mountain (11,234 ft), and Wenkchemna Peak (10,401 ft) to two breathtaking glacial lakes in the heart of the Continental Divide.
From the lake, the trail is quite easy to follow, and clearly marked with signs and maps. Follow the lakeshore west 0.1 km (300 ft), then head up the Larch Valley Trail, which switchbacks 2.3 km (1.5 miles). At the top there is an option to continue up to the Larch Valley, then Sentinel Pass, or to keep going west towards Eiffel Lake.
The Eiffel Lake Trail (3.3 km/2 miles) is easy, with very little elevation gain. On the way to the lake, the views of Moraine Lake and the Valley of Ten Peaks are absolutely stunning, and after the switchbacks the crowds dissipate considerably. At Eiffel Lake, you can continue 4.1 km (2.6 miles) on the Wenkchemna Pass Trail if you choose to pass through the mountains into Yoho National Park
Driving Directions: From Banff, drive northwest on Trans Canada Highway 1 and take the Lake Louise exit. Head southwest past Lake Louise towards the turnoff to Moraine Lake Road. Turn left and continue about 14 km (8.7 miles) until you reach the lake.

This is by far my favorite hike we have ever done to date. I loved it. We got there super early to get some sunrise photos of the lake, then we headed up the many switchbacks before reaching the top and hiking along the peaks. BEAUTIFUL!

Did this hike early August 2017. A great hike if you want to get away from the crowds on Moraine Lake. It was a bit hazy the day we hiked, due to the wildfires near the area, but it was still a beautiful and scenic hike. The views of the peaks and Moraine Lake were amazing. If you want to get away from the tourist crowd go on this hike.

One of the best hikes so far this year. From the lake the switchbacks are a steady climb until you reach the junction (the hardest part of the hike). The trail to Eiffel Lake has little to elevation gain, and the views of the surrounding mountains is unreal. Once at the lake the views are amazing, and it's a great place to enjoy a snack, lunch, or explore. Just be aware that grizzlies could be in the area. An amazing hike enjoyed by our whole family.

I got very lucky last year and was given the opportunity to go to Moraine Lake, it was a breathtaking experience. Because it is such a popular area you must get there early, by 11 it is crawling with people. I cannot wait to go back, if i am lucky. In the future I will most certainly try and stay at the lodge.
