Berkeley Rose Garden
Berkeley, California
Description
Added by Sarah Eichstedt
An amphitheater filled with thousands of rose bushes, a pond, and tennis courts.
I'm always surprised at how few people know of this beautiful garden. I'm often alone when I visit, which allows for perfect serenity. Visit in early spring for maximum blooms.
Park on Euclid Ave, which is where you'll find the entrance to the amphitheater (you can't miss the giant sign). Spend the evening wandering among the maze of blooms with your sweetheart. Did I mention it's oh so romantic?? ;)
Bring a snack to enjoy under the pergola, or better yet, bring lunch and spend the afternoon exploring. If you're up for a game of tennis there are 4 courts on site. If you brought the kids, theres a huge park across the street (Codornices Park), which has a playground, concrete slides, stream, basketball court, baseball field, hiking trails, picnic/BBQ areas, and a hidden waterfall.
Enjoy!
