Glencoe is one of the most scenic and beautiful places in the Scottish Highlands. Visiting "The Three Sisters" right off the A82 is a great way to experience the Highlands and learn about the history of Scotland. This beautiful green valley is a magical land straight out of a medieval story book and worth the visit.

The "Three Sisters" also known as Bidean nam Bian Mountain in the Scottish Highlands resides in the Valley Glen off A82 going towards the town of Glencoe northwest of Glasgow and Stirling. Entering "Three Sisters Car Park" into google maps or GPS will get you there just fine.

This part of Scotland is filled with rolling hills and waterfalls. The area is accessible year round, in the summer green grass surrounds the area and in late fall / early winter the grass turns a beautiful yellow brown if it is not covered by snow.

If you are planning on visiting Glencoe it is vital that you stop and photograph  Buachaille Etive Mor also known as Scotland's most photographed mountain for its iconic conical shape. Coming from the southeast of Scotland you won't miss it as it is along the way but just in case go ahead and punch in directions to "Buachaille Etive Mor" in google maps and it will bring you to the closest point on the road.

There are various places to pull over and photograph and relax along the A82 in Glencoe, with many trails to hike and scenic vistas. This is one of the easiest yet most rewarding places to visit in the Scottish Highlands.

The Highlands are remarkable! There is so much scenery to take in! It's a part of Scotland not to be missed! We were a bit pressed for time, but still got out at a few areas along the way, this being one, and walked along a trail for a bit.

This area is one of the greenest places I’ve seen outside the Southeastern US. It is an easy trip by car and affords you mesmerizing views of a place that feels like you’re stepping back in time. It wouldn’t be that far out to imagine a dragon or a knight posted up on one of the nooks of this gorgeous place. Take a long walk, breathe in the air and write your own fairy tale.

Gorgeous views. Must stop on any adventure to the Highlands.
