Mt. Dickerman Summit

In general, this is a strenuous hike or snowshoe at approximately 8 miles round trip with nearly 4000 elevation gain. Be aware of current snow conditions and avalanche risk if heading up in the winter. Do not attempt a winter trip without proper knowledge, skill, and gear. Some previous winter travel and avalanche evaluation experience is helpful.

From the Mt. Dickerman trailhead, start hiking up the trail through thick old-growth forests. The first two miles of the trail are strenuous with numerous switchbacks. At approximately 4500 feet elevation, the trail reaches some meadows and flattens out, giving you a much needed break. From the meadows, start climbing once again through snowfields and forests for another 1000-1500 feet of elevation gain until you reach the summit of Mt. Dickerman where you can regain your energy, set up camp, and enjoy the views!

Driving Directions: Drive east of Granite Falls, WA on the Mountain Loop Highway. After reaching the small town of Verlot, drive another approximately 16 miles on the Mountain Loop Highway to reach the large trailhead parking lot along the north side of the highway.
