Overview

A house made of windows, that’s the best way to describe the Seashore Modern House. Located off the beaten path, this two bedroom, one bathroom home sleeps four. The cottage, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was designed in the “Modem style” and completed in 1961. It sits atop a high bluff and faces northeast to maximize the sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean below. Today the house has been comfortably re-furnished with the era of its original construction in mind. This spacious, well equipped home will make your stay at Cape Cod National Seashore memorable.

Recreation

A visit to Cape Cod National Seashore almost always includes a day at the beach, relaxing as the sounds of the ocean surround you. But, explore beyond the beach and you will find the seashore is so much more. There are miles of walking and biking trails through pine forests, across sandy dunes and alongside fresh water ponds. You can climb to the top of one of the many light houses and experience a piece of maritime history that helped our new nation grow and thrive. For the wildlife lover there are opportunities to spot over 450 species of amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and mammals that make the seashore their home.

  • Kitchen is fully equipped including: microwave, oven, range, coffeemaker, toaster, pots/ pans, and eating utensils and plates.
  • Large patio, with a grill and furnishings, overlooking the ocean.
  • Pets are not allowed.

The great Outer Beach described by Thoreau in the 1800's is protected within Cape Cod National Seashore. Forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds and uplands support diverse species. Lighthouses, cultural landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod’s past and continuing ways of life.
