Description

Added by Zac Larson

Take in views of the Olympic Mountains that seem to go on forever.

The winding roads and drop-off cliffs provide an outstanding journey to the trailheads on a clear day. If you have to bear through the fog, your reward at the top is worth every second of what you missed. The first image above is your view from the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center, so even if you aren't in the mood for a gripping hike, you're on an unforgettable adventure with an expansive overlook of towering Olympic Mountain peaks.

The second and third images were taken nearly halfway through the Klahhane Ridge trail. The smooth path you see comes and goes, so moderately advanced hiking ability and proper gear is certainly recommended.

The last image was taken at the summit of Klahhane Ridge. Provided enough time, you're sure to encounter a creative rock balancer or two.

This is an out-and-back trail 3.8 miles each way. Elevation gain is +250 ft in the first 2.8 miles, and +800 ft in the last mile of switchbacks where you're almost sure to run into wildlife.

You do not want to miss this one.

As always, please respect the land and the folks who maintain it. Life is much less beautiful without access.
