10 gorgeous waterfalls throughout one hike.

The unique feature of South Falls, Lower South Falls, and Middle North Falls are the paths that pass behind the falls providing an amazing visual and auditory experience; however, be sure to have a good bag for your equipment to avoid water damage and a decent jacket (preferably water-resistant). One should be cautious when walking behind the waterfalls as the ground can be slippery or icy depending on the season and can cause falls.

The hike, along with the two offshoots is easily to complete within 2-3 hours even with stopping to shoot and can be done at most levels of fitness. There is also a 4-mile bike trail if you wish to do some cycling while you're there. If you're looking to learn a bit of Oregon's history or want a bite to eat, the South Falls Lodge is open most days from 11 am to 6pm.

If you are a snack person, bringing along some almonds, trail mix, apple slices or other such goodies make the 2-3 hour hike much more enjoyable. At least 1 water bottle’s worth of water is recommended per person as well.

It’s best to arrive between 7 am and 8 am for the optimum lighting conditions and to avoid crowds. Pets are allowed in most areas of the park including the picnic areas, but are prohibited on the trails.

This is an amazingly beautiful loop of falls! The hike is difficult in spots and it took us about 2.5 hours to complete. I would highly recommend for anyone willing to tough the hills and stairs.

Silver Falls State Park is an incredible park! The Trail of Ten Falls Loop offers fantastic views of all of the parks incredible waterfalls. Get an early start, this place is popular!

This was the first state park I ever went to as a child. It sparked my interest in the outdoors and has been a place of refuge for me as I've grown up. I will forever be grateful for this wonderful space that I am so blessed to have so close to home. 🙏

10 waterfalls. One hike. It’s pretty freaking cool.

I’ve done this hike before, but came again with friends on 5-30-2020. With all the rain recently, the waterfalls were flowing nicely. I recommend parking at the South Falls parking lot because it’s bigger and has an actual bathroom (North Falls parking lot has a outhouse that usually has a line). You can make the hike as long or short as you want. It took us around 3.5 hours to do the whole loop, but we were causally walking and taking time enjoying the falls. There are some slight hills, but nothing too steep. Beautiful loop that is worth taking the time to do the whole thing.

Overall it’s an easy hike & there are multiple loops to pick from, so you can make it as short or long of a day as you want. The summer is a bit chaotic, but the fall-spring isn’t too packed. If you’re wanting to see all of the falls I would recommend actual hiking boots, since it can get a little slippery & pools of water form on the trails behind waterfalls.

These waterfalls are gorgeous! I went at sunset and there was a beautiful warm glow surrounding the falls. It's a little crowded and touristy around the South Falls end but after a mile the crowds really thin out and it's more enjoyable. We had 2 cars so we just through hiked it from the South Falls end and finished at North Falls just to make it a little shorter but I don't think we missed out on too much

If you love waterfalls this is the perfect hike for you! It's an easy hike with multiple trails so the hike can be as short as a quick 1-2 mile loop to 8miles if you do the largest loops and all the small out and backs. It's a very popular hike so be prepared to see a lot of people especially when the weather is nice. Special features include a lodge that has a cafe during peak season and a wood fireplace during the colder months and mountain biking and horse riding trails.

This hike was a little crowded when I went, but it was gorgeous and totally worth it. Just don't expect solitude

I did this hike on a grey, showery day in September and it was beautiful. Flow was good but not as high as I've seen in others pictures. If you can manage, the hike down to the bottom of North Falls is worth it and a great perspective.
