Description

Added by Rebecca Stubbs

This scenic snowshoeing trail is usually uncrowded and close to the city.

The trail starts from the same trailhead as Donut Falls which is extremely popular. In the winter, the gates are closed and you need to park just off the highway. Follow the road and crowds along the trail but once you cross the bridge continue straight ahead instead of following the trail that curves to the left. About 50 feet after leaving the trail, you will intersect with an old mining road. This is what you will follow up to the mine. Along the trail there is a lot of private property so stick to the trail. At the top there are a few different mining structures that you can view along with some great views back down the canyon that you just snowshoed up.
