Bash Bish Falls is a short 0.5 mile hike from the parking lot to the falls. Cool off in the swimming hole beneath the falls.
One of my favorite walks to a spectacular falls. The trail is easy to follow and one mile from NY parking lot and 0.5 from the parking lot. The apparent place to swim. There are several very nice, family safe swimmable pools in the creek above and after the falls. There are signs at the top of the falls warning you not to approach too near the top. Be sure to swim upstream or downstream of these signs. You can camp on the NY side in Copake Falls NY at Taconic State Park or for nearby camping in the MA side you can hike from Mt. Washington State Forest HQ to the Ashley Brook primitive campsites easily. These are state approved and designated primitive campsites with outhouse toilets.
Bash Bish Fall State Park is located in the southern Berkshires of western MA. The falls are right on the MA/NY state line and there is parking and access from both NY and MA Parking lots.

Beautiful hike the entire way and the waterfall is gorgeous!

I've been in awe many times in my life, even for the simplest things, but Bash Bish picked me up off of my feet. This wasn't the biggest waterfall or the highest waterfall I've ever seen, but I believe it was the most unique with the way the water falls and the beautiful area in the park. When you stand next to the fall and listen to the roars of the falls it's pretty mellow. And my goodness, that water, it's so beautifully clear! I honestly felt like I could've sat there all day and if a storm wasn't rolling in, I would've.

Stopped here on my way home from a trip to Vermont/Western Mass. in February. There had been a quick warm up and it melted a bunch of snow, so the falls was raging. We had the place mostly to ourselves on a cold Sunday afternoon.

This is by far my favorite waterfall to go to. So so beautiful and fun! Easy and quick hike too

Beautiful falls which are often uncrowded. The water level varies through the year so there are times when the falls run light.

I've been going to Bash Bish since I was young, and it never disappoints! The hike is short ... A little steep at times...but definitely manageable and the falls are worth the effort. :-)
