Description

Added by Michael Matti

Take a short walk to the base of the falls, where there is a small pool, so you can get up very close. If you want to stretch your legs, take the 2.4 mile loop to the top of Latourell Falls.

Latourell Falls is a beautiful and unique waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. This amazing waterfall is just a few hundred yards from the road and parking lot. Once you park, there is a viewpoint for the falls that is straight ahead.

The view from there isn't that great compared to what you will find if you take the short trail that starts near the bridge and goes to the base of the falls. The trail is really short, only a few hundred yards. You can do some exploring once you reach the falls and go behind the falls if you wish. Latourell Falls has an unusually small pool that it drops into so you can actually walk right up to the edge of the falls for an epic photo op. Be warned though, you will get soaked.

This place is easy to get to, fun little hike with a slight incline. No parking fee, clean, and an awesome photo spot!

Good hike to the lower and upper falls and a clearing with a nice view of the gorge (and a chipmunk friend) at the high point

This is the perfect hike for a beginner like me. Not too long or difficult, but just lengthy and steep enough (esp at the beginning) to challenge me. The falls are beautiful and so is the nature. I loved this hike and will return!

An easy and quick hike to a waterfall that is family and dog friendly! I’d recommend bringing some paw covers for your dog it can get a little scramble

Latourell’s lower falls are towering and stunning and worth a simple quick stop to see. The hike really makes the trip worth it, it’s short and relatively easy but features an up close experience with another waterfall and a few great views of the gorge!

We were looking for a quick stop for good pictures on our way out to Oregon, and this was perfect one for quick and skipping crowds. I would have loved to to the hike, but we didn’t have time! We went late November, it was a bit cold but very work it. We hopped off trail to take pictures and go on the other side of the waterfall. Epic for a small walk and less people to deal with!

Great 2.4 mile loop. Great way to cool off under the falls mist.

This hike is pretty short but does not disappoint. There’s a lower and upper. The lower is easy to get too, the upper is about 20 minutes away. I got there early and there was a few people but nothing excessive. Great hike and really recommend it!

Great waterfall with not too many people during weekdays. You can go down a short trail to the lower waterfall or hike up a couple mile loop to the upper waterfall. Easy, short trails, bring waterproof clothes if you plan on standing close to the waterfalls.

I wouldn’t really call it a hike unless you’re hiking all the way up to the top of the falls. But either way it’s absolutely worth a stop! Very pretty and unique. Family friendly!
