White Pine Lake makes for a great day hike or overnight backpacking trip. Keep in mind that this is watershed area, so swimming and dogs are NOT allowed at this lake.
Just about 5 miles (2-2.5 hrs) from the trailhead, you will find the beautiful White Pine Lake where the water is an intense blue color. It's an amazing place for photos and just hanging out on a summer or fall afternoon. Along the way you will have great views of mountains of all colors, beautiful granite, meadows, streams, and valleys. Since it's a relatively short hike, you can make this a day trip or overnight. Just make sure that your campsite is at least 200 feet from the lake and the trail.
You can camp and have campfires up at the lake (check here for the campfire situation before you go since permitting may have changed), so if you're up for something even more special, bring your backpacking gear and get ready for a night under the stars...it's a great place for a quick but enjoyable overnighter. Make sure to bring bear canisters and follow proper bear protocol.

You lose the trailhead pretty easily and can end up confused. super fun tho, try not to slide down the snow!

My favorite lake hike in the Wasatch Range. Early in the spring, it's a fun adventure trekking across the snow. Bring your kids and challenge them!

Loved this hike. The wild flowers were so pretty. It was a strenuous hike but totally worth it. The lake was so pretty.

Me and my husband ventured out to find white pine lake today but was unsuccessful because the paths are completely snowed over. Everyone we passed said they couldn't find it either. But, it was still a beautiful hike up to as far as we could go 👍🏻 will definitely try again later on in June

White Pine is one of the greatest gems of Wasatch weather it be in the summer or spring. I suggest exploring this area in all seasons.

This was a beautiful trail. We were able to do some fishing at the lake, and got to see so much wildlife! There was a bull Moose in the area and we were able to follow it's tracks. This is a moderate to difficult hike but it is worth every minute of hiking!

I did this hike as a backpacking trip when I was 13. Amazing destination, great camp spots!

The driving directions below is not correct you have to go on the 210 to begin the trail, 200 ft after Tanners' campground. The hike is nice to do in Summer, 5.5 miles from the trailhead to the Lake.
