San Francisco, California
Description
Added by Brian Heifferon
The only overnight campground in SFLocated high above Baker Beach. Perfect for families and the kiddos.
Rob Hill Campground is a hidden treasure, located at the Presidio’s highest point above Baker Beach amid a beautiful eucalyptus grove. The campsite welcomes groups of all kinds and is also home to the Camping at the Presidio (CAP) program, which provides youth with meaningful outdoor experiences.
Rob Hill Campground offers four group campsites that can accommodate 30 people each (two are available to the public), restrooms, and a large stone campfire circle. It was expanded and improved in 2010 with support from the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund. "Rob Hill Campground is a place where children and families have the opportunity to pitch a tent in their national park, enjoy s’mores cooked over a campfire, and wake up in the woods to the sounds of nature,” said Walter J. Haas, Chair of the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund and son of its founders.
Each group campsite at Rob Hill features a campfire circle, a free-standing barbeque grill, and picnic tables. Rob Hill has restrooms but no showers. A large communal campfire circle with seating for 100 people may be available for general use.

Reviews
Ive Camped here multiple times. I cant believe there is access like this to camping in such a big city. People like to talk about the homeless coming into the campground a lot, but I’ve never had that problem. The park’s staff does a great job at not letting homeless people loiter, especially when you are camping.
