Easy escape. Amazing skyline views. Great mix of urban and green space.
Built on a historic freight rail line and perched above the streets of Manhattan’s West Side, the High Line is a public park that features a green-lined walkway. Park hours depend on the season, although it never opens before 7am, so best to go for sunset. Although you may have some company on warm summer nights, the park doesn’t often get super crowded.
There are access points from multiple subway lines. The best way to enjoy the High Line is to grab a picnic basket, complete with wine, some friends, and a blanket for when the sun sets, and post up between the greenery. More often than not, there are "after dark" events at the High Line, so be sure to stick around after the sun has gone! And if you want to make a day of it, come early, and participate in any number of facilitated activities such as poetry walks, historical tours, meditation sessions, pop-up art shows, garden tours, tai chi, and dance parties. Walk to either end of the 'line for a great bite to eat. Most notable is the cluster of specialty food shops and restaurants known as Chelsea Market. A whole range of types of eateries exist in the immediate area, besides the market, so you're almost guaranteed to find what you're looking for.

One of my favorite places in New York City! It’s amazing what they can do with it an amazing abandoned space and tracks. A great place to catch a sunset later in the day. You feel transported to a completely different place and you’re still in the city!

The Highline is a main attraction in the City now. You can walk the length of it in a few hours and you will catch glimpses of the Hudson River and the neighborhoods along the way. A must-do in New York!

Great spot to hang. Great restaurants and bars as well as beautiful scenery. Stop by Chelsea Market afterwards for Oysters, Sushi, Wine, and more.

The Highline has excellent views of the river and the city life below. The observations decks are a great spot to rest your feet while watching the taxis and pedestrians walk around below. In the evening you can sit in the restaurant and enjoy the sunset.
